From the inside out

I was walking around Target the other day shopping for Jordyn's birthday and they were setting up their stack of a new released movie. This movie is near to my heart. First of all, the day we went as a family to watch it was one of my favorite days we have ever had. We went on a hike and we looked like homeless people, but on our way home we decided to go to the movie. And sitting on the row with my six children and my sweet husband my heart was full with love for them. Then the movie started and it was so powerful. The messages that are lined in this sweet kids movie are moving. The thoughts that came to my mind as I pondered about what my core memories would be, what emotions I have overcome from the past, and what emotions I am still dealing with now filled my heart. I also couldn't stop thinking about each person in my family and the memories, good and bad, that they carry . . . made me want to make the most of every one.

So that day was one of my core memories. One I will never forget. So since this little baby is finally out on DVD I wanted to give one copy away, along with my books, to show thanks for the inspiration so many of you are to me.

I love this movie too and so do my kids! I think it's amazing how your children have been so brave and together through all of this. I know there have been difficult times with them, but you have so elegantly guided them through it all. Today I am grateful for the difficult times I have gone through, because of the person it has made me and the empathy I can share with so many around me.

I'm thankful for my little family, for the near perfect weather today, for people like you who are trying to make the world a better place to be, for my health, my hope in a life beyond this, and not needing instagram to be entered. (I could go on, but I don't want to bore you)

Goodness...I sat and started to think and now I can't think of just one thing I'm thankful for. :) That's something to be thankful for in and of itself. I will go with the blanket statement of being grateful for good friends.

At this time, I very thankful for my knowledge that Christ is the head of the LDS Church, the prophet is his mouthpiece, and that every clarification of doctrine is actually coming from Christ who loves us and knows what is best for us.

I am thankful for my family, a husband who works hard to provide for our family, being able to stay home with my kids and not work for the first time in 14 years and also that we have a forgiving God who grants me grace and forgiveness on bad days.

I'm thankful for my family. I have always been thankful for them and glad to have the parents and siblings I have but I bought my first house, a fixer upper and they have helped me immensely. Honestly, I couldn't have done this without them, I am truly humbled by the blessing of my family.

Ashley, I am mostly thankful to have my beautiful family. I am also thankful to finally know in my heart that I am a choice, beloved and cherished daughter of God and that means I am enough. Being "enough" is a constant struggle for me, so I am thankful to finally have that knowledge in my heart and not just in my head. I still have struggles here and there, but I know who I am and that makes all the difference. Thanks for your Amazing example of faith and strength.

Today I'm thankful to have over 6 years clean and sober. I'm thankful to have my children back in my life. To have the pleasures and annoyances of raising my special needs child to adulthood. Most if all, I'm thankful to have a chance for future happiness.

I'm thankful for my children and grandchildren, for shelter, food and clothing. For friends both established and new. For challenges to overcome to make me stronger. For the atonement of Jesus Christ that makes repentance possible.

I'm thankful for grass!!! (As in lawn!) After living in our home for 8 1/2 years, I am finally having sod delivered TODAY for my backyard! Years of looking at weeds and dirt are finally coming to a close. And my little girl will have a playable place for her swingset. :)

I am thankful for the reconnection of my husband and I. We have adopted several special needs children and with the stress and workload almost lost each other. If I received your books I would gift them to my friend whose whose world was shaken and almost destroyed when she found out her husband had molested their daughter.

My husband was just telling me how I needed to watch this movie! He took my daughters and loved it! I'm thankful for all the beauty I can see today - in those I love and in the world around me - and for the courage I am gaining to overcome my own struggles.

This movie could not have come at a better time for our family. We took our kids to see it just before we moved from Idaho, all the way to Michigan. Leaving behind all their friends, family that was close, and everything they knew. I am so thankful that they have adjusted well to living here. When I thought I couldn't handle it anymore and thought we should just move back to Idaho, my kids and husband have shown me, BIG change is hard, but big change can be good. So, for the change, and for the strength of my kids and husband I am truly thankful.

Today I am thankful for this movie! We just rented it and watched it tonight for family night lol. I really truly am thankful for it though, it made me think
Actually, it made me cry. I have four kids, what sort of core memories am I making for them? How have their experiences shaped them and what can I do in the future? I recommited myself to helping them find more joy, even in the sadness. :)

I am thankful for a loving Father in Heaven. I am thankful for the healing power of the atonement. I am thankful for Ashlee and her willingness to share her testimony and experiences with all. Her blog has helped me through some rough times this year. Earlier this year my marriage and family was tested as my husband's hidden addiction came to light. During this hard time and since I have definitely made some core memories. Some good and some not so great. I wouldn't change them for anything. It has made my family stronger. It has made me a better wife, mother, and daughter of God. For all of this I am thankful!

While Inside Out may not necessarily the most outright fun film Pixar has made, it is without a doubt the studio's best.
